Jazz singer Johanna Schneider and pianist Laia Genc have been performing together for ten years, during which time they have developed an unmistakable duo sound - characterized by musical intimacy, subtle timbres and great emotional intensity. The two internationally active musicians combine original compositions, selected jazz standards between swing and bossa nova as well as rarely heard songs to create a lively program. Rooted in the Great American Songbook, they leave plenty of room for spontaneity and musical surprises. Johanna Schneider impresses with a warm, soulful voice and a fine feel for swing, while Laia Genc shapes the duo's sound with expressive, multi-faceted piano playing. "10 Years and Counting" shows a duo that combines tradition and personal style in a natural way - lively, approachable and full of joy in playing.
