Around the world, the independent and impartial judiciary is coming under pressure from authoritarian populism. How vulnerable is the judiciary in Germany - at federal and state level?

The Justice Project is a research project initiated by Verfassungsblog that examines the vulnerability of the judiciary in Germany. It can be observed worldwide that the independent and impartial judiciary is under pressure from authoritarian populism. Israel, Taiwan, Mexico - the weakening of the third estate is by no means limited to Hungary and the USA. The Verfassungsblog has been following many of these developments closely for years. We don't want to wait until it's too late - and are already asking ourselves in the Justice Project what the situation is like in Germany.
