Get into conversation over a coffee - about the state of press freedom in Germany and around the world and why it is so important for our democracy. We cordially invite all visitors to our permanent exhibition "Schmidt! Living Democracy". For all those interested, the themed tour "Democracy in pictures. Helmut Schmidt and the media".

The BKHS is also part of Hamburg's Press Freedom Week, which will focus on the topics of press freedom and media diversity from November 2 to 8, 2025. During this week of action, which is taking place for the third time on the initiative of the Körber Foundation and ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS , we are offering a variety of different formats.
