The Sunday Noir

The band's musical influences range from singer-songwriters of the 70s, through post-punk and new romantic bands of the 80s, to the independent guitar music of the 90s. However, the English bands of the 80s are certainly the most obvious. The Psychedelic Furs, The Chameleons, The Sound and The Comsat Angels have shaped the musicians of The Sunday Noir since their youth.

Björn and Matthias played together in small but influential hardcore bands, namely Carol, Systral, and Mörser, which in the late 90s, alongside the legendary Acme, created a style of music that was recognized worldwide in the hardcore scene as "Bremen-Core" and is still remembered today. The year 2014 marks a new beginning. Together with bassist Andreas, who had previously been at home in electronic music, the three played melancholic guitar music as Matt and the Gas Giants and, as former metalheads, had completely new live experiences.

Since 2020, the electric guitars have been brought out more and more often, distortions and delays were added and finally an analog drum machine was purchased. With this setup, The Sunday Noir recorded their first E.P. "Adrian" with four songs in February 2024. These songs were released on tape under the non-profit label AutoReverse Records & Tapes by Jos Houtveen, Holland. And this closes a circle in a wonderful way, because Jos(Lärm, Seein' Red), extremely active in the hardcore scene, has known the boys since the many shows they played together in the oh-so-loud 90s.

Dead but Pretty

Female fronted punk from Bremen! Founded spontaneously in 2023 at the Shotbandcontest, played directly at the Überseefestival in 2024. And they can best describe the sound of this young and awesome band: "Sometimes the sound is reminiscent of Rage Against the Machine or even Skunk Anansie, only to remain on this side of the corona border in terms of sound. It might be stupid to single out individual people, but: the person on the guitar also plays with Mörser and The Human Ugly. Anyone who knows them knows that they don't rehearse without ear protection."
