On Refugee Day we are showing "Kein Land für Niemand" - Documentary Germany 2025.
A movie by: Max Ahrens & Maik Lüdemann
Germany is at a historic turning point: for the first time since 1945, a migration policy resolution is adopted in the Bundestag in 2025 - with the support of the AfD, which is being monitored by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution due to its extreme right-wing tendencies. The declaration on limiting immigration envisages, among other things, the complete closure of Germany's borders. A paradigm shift is on the horizon: away from the protection of refugees and towards isolation and deterrence.
Kein Land für Niemand - Abschottung eines Einwanderungslandes sets out in search of the causes of this political turning point and takes viewers on an evocative journey. The documentary begins at Europe's external borders, where an ongoing humanitarian catastrophe meets state ignorance, but also civil commitment. It follows a rescue mission in the Mediterranean, documents the catastrophic situation from the air and tells the stories of survivors who have found their way to Germany despite violence and deadly risks.
