Germany is at a historic turning point: for the first time since 1945, a resolution on migration policy will be adopted in the Bundestag in 2025 - supported by the AfD, which is being monitored by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution due to its far-right tendencies. The declaration on limiting immigration calls for the complete closure of Germany's borders, among other things. There are signs of a paradigm shift: away from protecting refugees and towards isolation and deterrence.

Kein Land für Niemand - Abschottung eines Einwanderungslandes explores the causes of this political turning point and takes viewers on an evocative journey. The documentary begins at Europe's external borders, where an ongoing humanitarian catastrophe meets state ignorance, but also civil society commitment. It accompanies a rescue mission in the Mediterranean, documents the dramatic situation from the air and tells the stories of survivors who have found their way to Germany despite violence and life-threatening risks.
