Kenan Flannery

Kenan Flannery celebrates the essence of folk music in its purest and most authentic form. The 25-year-old IYMA award-winning folk songwriter from Dublin, Ireland, is praised for his breathtakingly beautiful music. At heart, Kenan is a storyteller for the damned and broken. He writes heartbreaking songs and stories with a voice "that touches you with the intensity of hundreds of Irish poets and musicians". He combines Irish with his love of American folk music and has been compared to the likes of John Prine, Townes Van Zandt and Blaze Foley.
Over the past three years, Kenan has toured Europe and the USA, performing on stages large and small, as well as a number of festival appearances. His shows are unique, full of stories and songs that make you laugh, cry, sing and dance.
Kenan recently released his first live album entitled "Live at Whelan's, Dublin, Ireland", recorded during his sold out concert in Dublin. With lots of new music and more national and European concerts in the pipeline, Kenan Flannery has made a name for himself as one of the most extraordinary artists and storytellers on the international folk scene - someone to keep an eye on.
