In the workshop, participants are invited to build assemblage sculptures from old, broken or found ceramic or porcelain objects. Bring along figurines or utilitarian ceramics that you have found at flea markets or on the street, or things that have been at home for a while and no longer have a use (e.g. mementos, broken porcelain, etc.). Unglazed and abandoned ceramics from the Färberei-Keramikwerkstatt can also find new uses.
The aim of the workshop is to experiment with ceramics - beyond traditional techniques - in combination with the artistic method of assemblage: we combine different fragments, connect them with wire and complete the form with clay. On the second day, we glaze the works, which we can fire directly after drying. In this way, we deal with the colorful surface design, the exciting haptics and the interaction of the various materials found.
