The Australian musician Kim looks back on an extraordinary life between wanderlust, freedom and folk music - and yet he feels like he's just getting started. Growing up in the coastal town of Merimbula, he started playing as a street musician at local markets at the age of 15 and shortly afterwards performed in pubs in his home region - with a fake ID.

Immediately after high school, he toured the country in a camper van, won the busking competition at the Byron Bay Bluesfest early on and was named Folk Artist of the Year. International tours followed. His friendship with Billy Bragg, who took him on tour - including a joint appearance at the Glastonbury Festival - was formative.

Kim's breakthrough came with "Window to the Sky" from the album "Silence/Win": the song was the most-played track on Triple J, reached number 42 on the Hottest 100, went platinum in Australia and gold in Canada and Germany and has over 50 million streams.

Today, Kim works independently and self-managed. His album "Dawn Sounds" (2023) emerged from a daily songwriting ritual at dawn and took him on a 149-concert worldwide tour. His latest album "It's Lovely To Have You Here" is another chapter in a journey that is far from over.
