Kimmortal

Kimmortal is known for high-concept, cross-genre musical experimentation and complex lyrics. The queer, non-binary Filipino artist moves between singing and rapping; Kimmortal's signature subversive verve is complemented by a down-to-earth, human vulnerability.

The third album "Shoebox" (2023) expresses the journey of healing intergenerational trauma and honoring the 2SLGBTQ+ community - the EP "Sunniest of Days" (2025) processes both personal and collective grief while exploring the queerness of being human. The EP stayed on the earshot! national hip-hop charts for 13 weeks, including 8 weeks at #1, and 10 weeks on the national top 50 charts, including 5 weeks in the top 20. Kimmortal won the 2025 Leo Award for Best Original Composition for work in CBC's "Animal Pride" and is the lyricist and voice behind the theme song for "The Unstoppable Jenny Garcia".

Kimmortal's music has been featured many times, including the single "This Dyke" in "The L Word: Generation Q" and "On My Way" in "Apex Legends". Kimmortal has also contributed original music to the TV series "Sort Of" (HBO, CBC) and is currently writing for another series (TBA). The music video "Blue and Orange", directed by Aya Garcia and co-written with Tin Lorica, won the award for Best Music Video at the Disorient Asian American Film Festival 2024. Kimmortal has performed on stage alongside Thundercat, Saul Williams, Ruby Ibarra, Superknova, Saba, Shad K and many others.
