Kindheit in aller Welt - Lesung und Kreativaktion mit Yvonne Hergane

In the organizer's words:

How do children in other parts of the world live? What festivals do they celebrate and what is part of their everyday lives?

In this event, the Fröbel Book Workshop invites children and families to immerse themselves in stories from different countries. At the picture book cinema with author Yvonne Hergane, children get to know living environments from all over the world - from the Maldives to England, from Côte d'Ivoire to Syria.

The stories tell of everyday adventures, special moments and cultural traditions. They open up conversations about diversity, differences and similarities and invite children to look at the world from different perspectives.

Afterwards, the children design small lucky charms and develop their own ideas on the topic of living together and diversity.

The event combines reading together with creative design and is aimed at children aged 4 and over and their families.

About the book "Childhood around the world"

Children from different countries talk about their everyday lives: about family, celebrations, games and special moments. The stories provide insights into different living environments and show how diverse childhood can be - and what connects children all over the world.

About the author

The author Yvonne Hergane studied German, English and book studies in Augsburg and Munich. She has been working as a freelance author and translator of children's and adult literature since the 1990s. Her love of picture books and playing with language, rhythm and sound has been particularly influential. She now lives in Hamburg.
