77-year-old Tereza lives in a small industrial town in the Amazon region. One day, she receives an official order from the government to move to a retirement colony in a remote area. Here, the elderly are to "enjoy" their last years, while the younger generation can concentrate fully on productivity and economic growth. But Tereza resists. She embarks on a journey further and further into the Amazon region, through the tributaries and the jungle. She wants to fulfill one last wish before her freedom is taken away.
