On Thursday, January 22, 2026, the Kulturhaus Schwanen Waiblingen invites you to the eighth edition of Kino & Quatschen - this time with a special cinematic experience: a silent film evening, accompanied live on the piano by Martin Betz. The event starts at 8 pm, admission from 7 pm.

Kino & Quatschen has been bringing a breath of fresh air to the regional cinema landscape for several years. The format stands for film culture beyond the mainstream, for exchange and community. This time, early cinema meets live music: Martin Betz improvises on the piano to classics by Buster Keaton, surreal short films by Jan Švankmajer and new productions by young local filmmakers such as Tilman Siegl.
The result is an evening that combines the past and present of silent film - poetic, humorous and surprisingly lively.

After the screening, the room opens up for discussions. The audience, filmmakers and other interested parties can talk about images, sounds and ideas - in the spirit of the format, which sees cinema as a social event. Anyone interested in encounters away from the red carpet will find an open, curious audience and an atmosphere between improvisation and discourse.

Admission is free. For all those who would like to support the format, solidarity tickets between 5 and 15 euros are available in advance and at the Box Office.
