Parakeets are Julius (27) and Merle Eckardt (24) - a sibling duo from Düsseldorf who mix acoustic indie pop with jazzy, folky and bossa vibes.
After originally starting out as a five-piece indie rock formation, the band has consisted of just the two siblings since 2023. Their shows consist of handmade music, honest storytelling, a large portion of charm and real live looping. Their goal: good music that puts you in a good mood.
In 2024, Parakeets toured NRW with their "Hosomaki Tour" and even made a detour to Hamburg. The "Better Now Than Tomorrow Tour" will now follow in 2025. The upcoming debut album is made possible by funding from the Ministry of Culture and Science NRW and create music NRW.
