Yukari & Mari - that's Yukari Ito and Mari Inoue - come from Japan.
From 2007-2016, they took lessons with Prof. Hans-Peter Stenzl and Prof. Volker Stenzl at the Rostock University of Music and Drama in the master's degree course in piano duo. The two emerged as winners of the 2008 Steinway Scholarship piano competition. This was followed by performances at many different and unusual concerts. For example, they worked on a production at the St. Pauli Theater and Schauspielhaus in collaboration with the Theaterakademie Hamburg. In the play "Der Waffenschmied" by A. Lortzing, they performed both as a piano duo and as actresses, and on the occasion of the celebrations for the 800th anniversary of the town of Wedel, they played five grand pianos in a piano quintet sponsored by Steinway as part of the "Pianos an der Elbe" event.
