Kleiner Freitag: Judith Kranz – „Soma“

In the organizer's words:

In a post-apocalyptic world, the earth, water and air are contaminated. The small Soma people only survive thanks to their powerful allies: the trees, which provide food and new life - but not without something in return.

When Lan is to be sacrificed for the community, she flees with Iri to a contaminated, unknown land from which no one has ever returned ...

With finely crafted, detailed pencil drawings, Hamburg-based illustrator Judith Kranz creates a mysterious world in her debut that evokes memories of the works of Hayao Miyazaki ("Nausicaä from the Valley of the Winds") as well as the visual language of Anke Feuchtenberger ("Comrade Cuckoo").

Original drawings from SOMA can be seen in the exhibition Solarpunk at uzwei.

An event in cooperation with uzwei and schauraum: comic + cartoon and as part of the 4th Comic Reading Week and the Solarpunk exhibition.
