In the fifth episode of the "Club of Crude Poets", we talk about books and films in which people shape bodies and the dream body becomes a horror . Nobody will have to go under the knife, but this evening will certainly change us.

Our guests will be:

• Sophia Süßmilch: The visual artist, performer and author will present the film The Ugly Stepsister by Emilie Blichfeldt.
• Fabian Bernhardt: The philosopher will bring along the crime novel The Skin I Live In by Thierry Jonquet.
• Katharina Hülsmann: The Japanologist has the manga Helter Skelter by Kyoko Okazaki in her luggage.

About the series
In the "Club of Crude Poets" we take a look at the margins of humanity. The focus is not on the pathologization of human abysses, taboos and fetishes, but on the artistic examination of them. We will look at how artists and their audiences have repeatedly sought out, become entangled in and also freed themselves from human offside. The guests invited to our Literaturschau auf Abwegen select a work inspired by the respective theme that they would like to present that evening. It is up to them whether it is a book, a movie, a comic or a video game.
