Performances and conversation with Ghostpoet https://www.instagram.com/ghostpoet/
Sera Kalo's upcoming album is called "Jazz is Punk". She creates her own musical language by referring to genres like jazz, soul, pop, hip hop, experimental or Caribbean musical styles - while fluidly moving towards something new. She will share songs, released and from the upcoming album, and provide insight into inspirations and stories, as well as what she means with "Jazz is Punk".
Gavsborg is founding member of Equiknoxx, who are celebrated as forward thinking Jamaican music collective. He also works as a solo artist, producer, vocalist and DJ and is known for pushing the boundaries of Jamaican music on a global scale, with an experimental blend of dancehall, electronic, dub, and ambient sounds. We look forward to getting some insights into his leftfield approach to music production.
Conversation hosted by:
Ghostpoet (Dr.Obaro Ejimiwe) is a British artist celebrated for his unique blend of alternative hip-hop, electronica, and indie rock, exploring urban isolation, existential angst, and the human condition. His Nigerian and Dominican heritage enriches his distinctive artistic voice, which has earned two Mercury Prize nominations. In 2020, he expanded into visual arts, enriching his creative expression further.
Both artists, and the host as well, have a very fluid practice, rooted in musical traditions and genres, and moving far beyond. Also, we noticed in their bios, they all have some connection to the Caribbean.
Have your Sunday brunch with us while listening and exchanging.

About Knistern
Knistern describes a crackling sound, and is also a metaphor for something that's in the air between people, be it a crush or an argument. It is something invisible that makes the relational space vibrate and spark. Something magical, intangible and not to be pinned down that is happening in the moment of relation to each other.
The series Knistern each time brings together two artists and a musical idea they are currently working on. They present their current work in a short set, and then have space to share their musical ideas in conversation with each other, a music journalist, and the audience. What happens in the space between the two artistic approaches, and what happens between people in the room in the conversation? And also, what happens between the sound and the review, the thinking, the tuning in, the conversation?
Knistern takes place in collaboration with Richten25, project space for improvised music in Berlin Wedding. Knistern is contingent and ephemeral. It lives in the present, and something amazing may come out of it, or maybe it's just a brief moment in time.
