KNOTENPUNKT25 Vernissage

The Affenfaust Gallery opens the exhibition of the year: KNOTENPUNKT25. The currently most relevant urban and contemporary art can be discovered on over 1000 m². Immersive installations, large-scale works and new spaces invite visitors to immerse themselves in a variety of visual worlds.

This year's highlights include a mural by Canadian artist Miss Me, who is coming to Hamburg for the opening weekend, artworks by Mr. Brainwash, MadC, Rafael Sliks and Shepard Fairey, a live performance by Otto Baum, a staging by artist duo Coarse and a walk-in Gesamtkunstwerk by Hamburg artist Maens.

This year's line-up includes over 40 artists from all over the world - including the USA, Canada, England, France and Australia. Many up-and-coming positions meet globally established names - a perfect opportunity to discover new talent and start collecting.

A new highlight this year is that the festival will also be showing pioneering Pop Art positions - those artists who have shaped entire generations of urban art with their visual language. With Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Robert Indiana, central icons are included whose works - from a private collection - form concise points of reference to the present. Between mass image and comic, language and symbol, they create a dialog with today's visual codes of street and urban art. The works on display are also available in the context of the exhibition.

KNOTENPUNKT has been curated by Affenfaust Galerie for over a decade now and presents a selection of currently relevant urban art and contemporary art. The outstanding quality and range of the exhibited positions is unique in Germany and also plays at the top internationally. The focus is always on a large group exhibition, which is accompanied by a diverse supporting program in the form of events, performances, installations, collaborations with local institutions and art in public spaces.

There will be a special performance program exclusively for the vernissage on 12.09.2025: Among others, Otto Baum, Maens and ilithya & Timo Johannes will show live works specially conceived for this evening - only to be experienced on this date.
