Konstantin Wecker, who was born in Munich and has been active in the German-speaking world for more than 50 years, became known for his songs and concerts, in which his most important concern throughout his life has been to remain authentic and to stand up for a humane, equal and domination-free society. Sometimes contentious, sometimes contemplative, sometimes gentle, sometimes explosive - but always passionate: this is how audiences know and love the poet and musician. Those who only see him as a singer-songwriter overlook his incredibly diverse oeuvre. He composes for film, television and musical theater, as a writer he publishes prose and poetry, and several prominent film and television roles as an actor complete his artistic range.
