Konzert: Crossing Lines

In the organizer's words:

Crossing Lines is a diverse musical and intercultural journey. Traditional songs and poetry in Hebrew, Turkish and Arabic are reworked and combined with vocals, cello, electronic effects and loops.

Nihan Devecioğlu (vocals, Istanbul/Munich) and Sasha Agranov (cello, Haifa/Barcelona) come from important port cities on the Mediterranean and Black Sea. Both grew up in families of the second generation of migrants. Their music tells of the search for identity, the longing for home and the desire for understanding.

Since 2019, with the support of the Munich Cultural Department, they have been developing their duo project and performing in Munich, Israel and Turkey. Their concerts create encounters between cultures and open up new perspectives.

Especially in polarizing times, they see music as a bridge. For them, music is the most important home - a space where past and future meet and new things are created.
