Konzert für Cello und Klavier: VERA NEBYLOVA & ALYA ASSANOVA

Sound bridges between epochs.
Two musicians who met in Belgium bring a varied program to the stage: music from Germany, Russia and France that moves between romanticism, classical form and modern sound language.

An evening that builds bridges - between centuries, styles and individual voices.
Robert Schumann's "Fantasiestücke" open the concert with intimate poetry and romantic expression. This is followed by Alfred Schnittke's "Suite in the old style", an ironic and affectionate play with baroque forms from a 20th century perspective.

The contribution by Nadia Boulanger, one of the most important teachers of the 20th century, is a rarely heard gem: her works display an elegant, French tonal language with emotional depth.

The concert concludes with Francis Poulenc's Cello Sonata, a multi-layered, powerful work full of melancholy, wit and virtuosity.
