Concert: Magic Shoppe (Boston) + SEK (Berlin/Dresden)

Magic Shoppe from Boston are known for their love of distortion and reverb. Inspired by My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Raveonettes, Sonic Youth and Loop, the band has spent thirteen years creating their own unique shoegaze sound that flirts with noise rock. Distorted guitars merge into soundscapes or discharge in a thunderstorm of sound. They balance unerringly between retro and futuristic, but always with driving bass and hypnotic rhythms mixed with dark vocal melodies.

Magic Shoppe have released six LPs and EPs to date, as well as a live LP of their wall-of-sound shoegaze. In the last five years, they have toured the EU and UK five times and completed three mini-tours of the US and Canada. In October 2024, they contributed a song to the Netflix series Outer Banks.

In September 2025, Magic Shoppe will release their seventh vinyl EP on Little Cloud Records in the USA/Canada and Cardinal Fuzz in Europe, and on the following tour through Europe/UK they will also stop by for one of their three exclusive German concerts.

SEK, consisting of the Kaiser (Gavial), Reverend Rebound (Elder, Gaffa Ghandi), DJ Benjamin (Gavial) & Rüdiger Gonzales (Gaffa Ghandi), was born out of the need to transform the dark feelings triggered by lockdowns and the pandemic madness into shimmering, spontaneous freeform kraut jams and take no prisoners.

This is madness, but madness with method! The current curriculum consists of the EP "In der Tat", in which highly relevant historical events were set to music in order to turn the wheel of history at top speed and finally dissolve all eternally rigid, historically materialistic contradictions."
