Following the sweaty success of their 2023 cassette EP 'Note to Tape' (featuring remixes by GHLOW, ABU NEIN and 100BLUMEN) and 2025's much-loved queer anthem 'Our Feline House' - the official song of Malmö Pride 2025 - The Guilt are poised to make 2026 their loudest year yet. The upcoming album, released via Icons Creating Evil Art, features garage-gothic ballads, power-punk bangers, queer anthems and songs for "pretty normal witches".

The Guilt are no strangers to German stages and supermarkets:

"One of our main occupations in Germany is grocery shopping. We spend our fees on curry ketchup, mate and vegan cevapcici. We've seriously talked about upgrading the tour bus to fit more snacks. That's just the way we are."

"We've also heard that there's a raccoon invasion somewhere in Germany. We know that can be problematic, but honestly? If we came across a raccoon, it would probably be the best day of our lives. Except for the day we got to play with the seals on Heligoland. That remains unbeatable."

Who is Batbait, and how do they make music that is so intense and strangely beautiful? (Because if we finally let rock music speak for itself, it would say with great certainty that it wishes to be played by Batbait). A sound that is far more than distorted guitars and driving rhythms. Here, sound unfolds that not only scratches the surface, but reveals deeper layers. Glitter in the noise. Against the Glotz. When the patriarchy falters, Batbait resonates. Accessibility is renegotiated when they shred their songs. DIY is not a style here, but a lived reality. The four musicians uncompromisingly develop their own musical language, free from conventional boundaries: Distortion, reverb swathes and clicking rhythms interweave to create a complex, multi-layered experience. Music, lyrics, visual art and aesthetics shape their work, in which self-determination and independence take center stage. Batbait show how rock music doesn't just need a lot of space, but can be loud and angry and at the same time reflective, joyful and sensitive.

The combination of sound and content creates a sound that defies all rock sub-genre boundaries and goes its own way - radically and independently.
