Thea's music creates clarity so that it hurts, puts her finger in the wound and connects sometimes accompanied by a versatile piano sound, embedded in warm guitar sounds and sometimes with a full band line-up. She sings about the happiness and injustice of this world, about the joy of imperfection and brokenness, about anger at avoidable misery. In short: indie pop with attitude and depth.
Whether effectively minimalist piano arrangements or opulently layered synthesizers, the duo Lingo Dronte are not afraid of surprising twists and turns or danceable pop facets. Lingo Dronte are Mittli and Linda, who, after years of working together on a singer-songwriter folk project, have reoriented themselves musically and, as a well-rehearsed team, have embarked on an electronically playful path. With arrangements of piano, synthesizer and percussion, the duo opens up a wide space for their sometimes highly alienated, multi-layered looped vocal structures, which are sometimes anthemic, energetic, danceable, sometimes immediate and fragile. In their lyrics, they deal with themes such as loss, new beginnings, exploitation, love, mistrust... - interwoven in personal narratives or abstract fables.
