The mandolin looks back on a long history: it has enjoyed great popularity in both art and folk music for centuries - right up to the present day. Alon Sariel and Viacheslav Shelepov perform works from the classical-romantic era in (original) arrangements, including pieces by Clara (1819-1896) and Robert (1810-1856) Schumann, Franz Schubert (1797-1828), Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809-1847) and Richard Wagner (1813-1883).

Included in the admission price (tickets must be redeemed on the evening of the concert). Admission: Adults €5.00; concessions (for pupils, students, trainees, people with disabilities, pensioners and holders of the "Braunschweig Pass") €2.50; children from 6 - 16 years €2.00; school classes and children up to 6 years free admission. The Städtisches Museum is fully accessible. The Municipal Museum is a member of the Braunschweig MuseumsCard. It allows free admission once and permanently reduced admission on subsequent visits for one year to the seven largest museums in Braunschweig.
