They offer anyone interested the opportunity to get an insight into our program in advance - free of charge! This time: "The Seagull", a tragicomedy by Anton Chekhov, which premieres on January 10 in the main theater of the Stadttheater.

About the play:

Kostja has written a monologue that is set to revolutionize theater. His beloved Nina is to play him. The young poet has not reckoned with the mockery of society, led by his own mother, the theater diva Irina Arkadina. She in turn tries to cover up her ageing with a young lover who can think of nothing better than to fall in love with Nina.
In Chekhov's famous "Comedy Journey into the Heart of Darkness" (G. Stadelmaier), everyone is unhappily in love with the wrong people and complains that there is not enough money. They rarely realize that there are more important things than their own belly button, and even then the realization is covered up with irony.
