Introduction and rehearsal visit. If you would like to know what to expect from our new productions and upcoming concerts before the premiere, the taster sessions are the right place for you. They offer all interested parties the opportunity to get an insight into our program in advance - free of charge! This time: "To be or not to be", a comedy by Nick Whitby, which premieres on September 20 in the main auditorium of the Stadttheater.

About the play:

The ensemble of the Polski Theater in Warsaw is rehearsing an anti-fascist comedy in 1939. However, the performance is banned by the Polish government for fear of a conflict with the Hitler regime. Instead, a Hamlet production from the repertoire is added to the repertoire. However, this does not stop the troupe from using their theatrical strengths to put up resistance by sabotaging the Nazis' plans. A political satire that presents a totalitarian system with black humor and focuses on artistic means such as persiflage, irony, mockery and sarcasm as legitimate means of naming social grievances. A comedy that now more than ever deserves its place on the stage.
