A crime trail is a very special form of city tour: you explore the city on your own while following an interactive criminal case. You move flexibly through real places, collect clues, check statements and combine information - using your smartphone and investigation file. Without a fixed time frame, but with plenty of suspense.
Your search for clues begins in Bonn with a puzzling incident: A man has gone overboard. What initially seems like a tragic accident quickly raises questions. Was it really an accident - or is there more to it? The Rhine, otherwise a symbol of calm and stability, becomes the scene of a mysterious case. Statements contradict each other, time sequences remain unclear and not every observation seems to have been accidental. The police are faced with unanswered questions - and need your support.
On the Bonn Crime Trail - "Man Overboard", you take on the investigation. You check witness statements, follow various leads and have to decide which clues you trust. You stay in contact with the operations center via the investigation chat and gradually receive new information that sheds a different light on the case. It turns out that not every lead leads to the goal and some details only reveal their significance on a second look.
Your investigation will take you along the Rhine and through the center of Bonn. The starting point is the banks of the Rhine at the boat landing stage, from where you head towards the Stadtgarten via the opera house. The route continues along the Brasserufer to the Ernst-Moritz-Garten before you also include the other side of the Rhine on the Hans-Steger-Ufer in your investigations. You also pass central locations such as the Hofgarten, the castle church and the market square, where clues, encounters and new questions accumulate.
There is time for short breaks between investigations: cafés and restaurants along the route invite you to discuss theories and draw new conclusions. The Bonn Crime Trail combines suspense, city experience and teamwork to create an extraordinary excursion along the Rhine.
