A crime trail is your own investigative adventure in the open air: with your smartphone in hand, you wander through the city, following an exciting story and deciding for yourself which clues to follow first. Without fixed times, without a predetermined route - but with plenty of excitement and a spirit of discovery.
In the case of "The Eckernförde Sprat Murderer", it all begins on the beach, not far from the mermaid "Mareminde": walkers find the lifeless body of Sarah B., daughter of a well-known fishing family. It quickly becomes clear - it wasn't a robbery. But what then? The investigation takes a dark turn when parallels to an unsolved series of murders ten years ago emerge. Three women were found dead in the Baltic Sea - the perpetrator was never caught. Is this a coincidence or is something returning that never really disappeared?
Now it's up to you to shed some light on the case. You question suspects, check their alibis and try to see through their motives. Five people are in the spotlight - but who is telling the truth and who is hiding something? The puzzle continues to fall into place with every clue, but there are no easy answers.
Your investigation takes you through Eckernförde - from the beach to the harbor to the spa gardens and along the promenade. You discover St. Nikolai's Church, stroll through small alleyways, pass former fish smokehouses and experience the town between everyday maritime life and eventful history.
