In the organizer's words:

"Culture is more" is a new association of all cultural institutions in Heidelberg that want to make visible what culture means for the city's society.
The current situation in the city budget poses enormous challenges for those working in the cultural sector. While the program planning for 2025 and 2026 had long been completed, the city council decided at the beginning of October that, among other things, cuts of 5% in the area of "voluntary services" must be implemented for all cultural and social institutions. Of course, this was far too late to cancel the concerts in December that had already been contractually agreed or to uninvite the musicians despite existing commitments. So what to do in such a short space of time?

On November 29/30, 2025, there will be a long weekend of culture in Heidelberg: visibility instead of resignation, creative design instead of discouragement.
KlangForum Heidelberg therefore invites you to the cultural-political Advent Singing with coffee and mulled wine on Sunday 30.11. at 5 pm in our rehearsal center in the BetriebsWerk - Free admission.

J. Marc Reichow will present pagan end-of-year colinde songs from Romania, collected by Béla Bartók.
After a short keynote speech on our situation and the general cultural-political situation, you will have the floor, because plurality of opinion is essential for a lively KlangForum.

Afterwards (or in between to loosen things up), we will sing Advent carols together and in several voices - voluntarily, of course, but under the thorough and cheerful direction of Ekkehard Windrich.

The cultural scene in Heidelberg stands together, because "culture is more"!
