Das KoKi zeigt: Kung Fu in Rome

Chinese girl Mei has learned kung fu from an early age, as we learn right at the beginning. In search of her kidnapped sister, Mei ends up in a Roman brothel, where the madam refuses to give her any information about her sister's whereabouts. Without further ado, Mei dismantles the entire establishment and bodyguards rushing in are grilled in boiling hot cooking oil. The heroine of this film, played by stuntwoman Yaxi Liu, is a kindred spirit of Uma Thurman from "Kill Bill". One wonders what is to come after this breathtaking fight ballet intro. Well, Italian director Gabriele Mainetti first takes a deep breath and then weaves an adventurous, twisted and sometimes adorably absurd martial arts love story. Mei falls in love with the chef Marcello (Enrico Borello), who first has to find out what a hand edge is. A furious Italian-Chinese genre mix of kung fu action and intercultural love story.
