Künstler:innen in der Alten Sternwarte - Vortrag und Atelierrundgang

The Alte Sternwarte Mannheim is one of the oldest baroque buildings in the city. But what many people don't know is that it was also a place of art for over 100 years.

Artists have lived and worked here since 1908. On Sunday, April 26, from 13:00 to 14:00, a lecture will be held in the studio of the Mannheim artist Walter Stallwitz (1929-2022) in the Alte Sternwarte on all the artists who have lived on one floor of the "Atelierturm" in 114 years.

This will be preceded by a tour of Stallwitz's studio from 11:50 to 12:40, during which you will learn more about the artist and his main themes. The studio is an absolute time capsule and gives a great impression of Stallwitz's working world and his creative process.
