Art tourwith Gertrud Schleising
Le Nuage d'or - a search for traces, Bremen salon culture between 1904 and 1914
"We didn't give societies, we were one," writes Marga Berck in her book "Die goldene Wolke - Eine verklungene Bremer Melodie".
In it, the wife of the director of the Bremen Kunsthalle provides an insight into the varied get-togethers of artists who met for salons in the city's villas.
Alfred Heymel, co-owner of the Insel publishing house, and the writer, architect and painter Rudolf Alexander Schröder founded this circle in 1903. They found allies in Magdalene and Gustav Pauli, Agnes von Kapff and her aunt Aline as well as Adele and Georg Wolde.
"The Golden Cloud" comes to life again on a tour of the classicist villas of the Wolkenkinder.
After the tour, there is the opportunity to round off the experience together at Café Petit.
