Art week at the Mohr Villa From April 18 - 23: Creative and diverse offers to try out in the art workshop

April 21 is this year's World Day of Creativity and Innovation. In keeping with this, there will be an entire art week at the Mohr Villa from April 18 to 23, 2026, during which interested parties can try out and live out their creativity.

With a diverse range of workshops, there is something for everyone! From regular courses during the week, such as our open studios, painting workshops and the wood sculpting course evening, there will also be the opportunity to get an insight into our weekend courses.

In 2-hour workshops, those interested can try out a wide range of activities and get creative - and all for just a 10-euro materials ticket, which is valid for the whole week. You can register directly with the course organizers.

Saturday, 18.04.2026

• 2 - 4 p.m. Portrait painting with Plexiglas

Painting portraits is difficult? Not at all! Paint your self-portrait or portrait of the person opposite you with ease. Then you can decorate the portrait to your heart's content. Who would you like to be - an astronaut, princess or tiger?

• 16:30 - 18:30 Time for you

In Katharina Funk's creative small group coaching (max. 8 people), you are invited to step out of your everyday life for a moment and find yourself.

In a protected space, you can playfully try out what is inside you without any pressure to perform and without any previous artistic knowledge - colors, shapes and symbols become your personal language. Through intuitive design (e.g. with collage, watercolors, chalks and pens) and a carefully moderated exchange, you can find a new approach to yourself and discover how much power lies in your creativity.

• 10 - 12 am Calligraphy

There are many reasons why calligraphy is arousing increased interest in the age of computers: Because it positively affects the mind and soul through peace and relaxation, because the playful use of ink and pen is great fun, because the lovingly handwritten words express your own creativity. You are cordially invited to try your hand at using poster and ribbon pens, balsa wood and speedball pens, drawing nibs and ink to make small cards.

• 12:30 - 14:30 Printmaking

This workshop will briefly introduce the various printing techniques such as monotype, linocut, woodblock and stencil printing. The focus will be on monotype, as it is well suited to creating quick, improvised, imaginative images. "Mono" and "typographia" mean "a single print". Each picture is unique. We give free rein to the imagination and marvel at the results.

• 3 - 5 p.m. (Re)discovering inner sources of strength

After a short introduction, artistic methods (collaging and painting) make it easier to tap into your own strengths and sources of strength. The experience and energy can be taken into everyday life together with the artistic work. No previous artistic knowledge required.

Jewelry boxes can be created on this date. Basically, however, watercolor, acrylic, drawing, jewelry boxes, hand lettering, beaded jewelry, embroidery, knitting, crocheting are possible. Beginners, advanced students, experts and connoisseurs are all welcome to attend each evening.
