US singer Lady Blackbird is coming to Germany for three shows in April and May, bringing her unmistakable blend of neo-gospel, avant-soul and acid rock to the stage. After the overwhelming success of her debut album "Black Acid Soul" and the release of her second album "Slang Spirituals", the artist is looking forward to presenting her work live in Germany again and thrilling her fans with her powerful voice and charismatic stage presence.

Since her debut album in 2021, which was highly praised by critics, Lady Blackbird has developed a unique sound. Her sound is instantly recognizable and capable of evoking joy one moment and heartbreak the next - a musical embrace of genres as diverse as jazz, classic soul, gospel, psychedelic rock and pop. It's the hallmark of a visionary voice. Her music is known for its emotional depth and versatility, reflecting freedom and the journey to self-discovery in every song. With "Slang Spirituals" last year, Lady Blackbird set new standards and showed an even more personal and vulnerable side. The album, produced in collaboration with Chris Seefried, comprises eleven tracks that range from soulful orchestral fanfares to fingerpicking folk storytelling. Songs like "Let Not (Your Heart Be Troubled)" and "Reborn" focus on her journey of self-acceptance and liberation from religious and societal shackles.

The singer was born and raised in a religious family in Farmington, New Mexico. She began singing at an early age and was signed to a Christian record label at the age of 12. "As I entered my teenage years, I began to realize that religion was something that was imposed on me, and it never felt right," she says. "As I also began to develop my own identity as a queer woman, I felt judged as an outsider and labeled as a sinner. It buried who I really was and I had to find a way out," says Lady Blackbird. Her musical journey took her through various phases in which she worked as a session singer for artists such as Anastacia - but it was only in her collaboration with Chris Seefried that she found her own unmistakable sound, which is expressed in her two albums.
