Lars Pagelsen and his trio play atmospheric and energetic jazz that has a modern feel but always wants to remain understandable. The trio's pieces are characterized by catchy melodies and surprising arcs of tension, and the musicians' interplay is simultaneously fresh and playful, but also intimate and very familiar. The equality that prevails between the instruments as well as between improvisation and composition ultimately forms the core of the music and is present in every moment.
