An actress travels to the extreme south of Chile. María (María Alché) is to take part in a film project in Puerto Williams. But the rest of the team has not yet arrived and a storm cuts the island off from the rest of the world. Waiting, María explores the barren, windswept landscape between the sea, fog and mountains, begins to lose herself in the silence of the place and then in encounters with the few inhabitants. Little by little, a web of new experiences and small secrets emerges that strengthens her sensitivity.

José Luis Torres Leiva's documentary-like film is a subtle meditation on loss and grief, memory and the present, as well as the fragile connection between body and landscape. An almost utopian film of hypnotic beauty, in which nature becomes as much a protagonist as María herself.

As a supporting film, we are showing the short film NUESTRA SOMBRA, which explores the uncanny transformations of individuals in the midst of man-made environmental destruction, while a solar eclipse darkens the sky.
