+ supporting film: ES MÁS FACIL SOÑARLA VIVA

Nora Cortiñas, affectionately known as "Norita", was the name of the courageous Argentinian woman who, even during her lifetime, became an emblem of the tricky memory work of a country struggling with the difficult legacy of the military dictatorship. Norita's life took a drastic turn when her son was kidnapped by the regime in 1977 and became one of the many desaparecidos - victims who are still considered to have disappeared without trace. As the central figure of the Madres de Plaza de Mayo, a community of bereaved mothers, it became her life's mission to draw worldwide attention to the unpunished crimes against humanity.

NORITA is a moving tribute to a pioneer who played a decisive role in shaping Argentina's memorial policy. But it is also the portrait of a beacon of hope for many Latin American women who are fighting a tough battle for self-determination using non-violent means.

Together with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, we are delighted to bring the film to Munich and to talk to the co-director.

In the supporting film ES MÁS FACIL SOÑARLA VIVA , it is a girl who has disappeared without a trace in the Peruvian Amazon. The possibilities of the life she could have lived haunt her loving parents.

Guests: Andrea Tortonese (co-director NORITA), Francisco Villa (co-producer and cinematographer NORITA), Anne Thieme (director ES MÁS FACIL SOÑARLA VIVA) and Mayki Gorosito (former director ESMA Museum)
