Pianist Leon Wenzel can regularly be seen on the international concert stage. He has been coming to the Theaterstübchen once a year for years and plays some of the finest pieces from his repertoire. This time it is works by Joseph Haydn, Frédéric Chopin, Claude Debussy and Robert Schumann. A musical panorama that ranges from classical music to impressionism and, with Schumann's "Symphonic Etudes", includes a work that crowns musical romanticism. This music has just as much to offer the crack musician looking for harmonic peculiarities as it does for those who have bypassed pieces from such a distant past.
In the 2024/25 season, Leon Wenzel made his debut with the Orchestre philharmonique royal de Liège under the baton of Swann van Rechem in Sergei Rachmaninov's Third Piano Concerto. He has performed concerts throughout Germany and Belgium and completed his master's degree in piano performance in Brussels with the highest distinction.
