LES IMPRIMÉS

The spherical, moving sounds of Les Imprimés are the latest addition to the Big Crown family - the project of Norwegian musician Morten Martens from Kristiansand. Long active in the background, he is now releasing his first single and his debut album in 2023.

Martens is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and arranger with decades of experience. He won the Spellemann Award (the Norwegian equivalent of the Grammy) in 2006 and has been nominated several times. His musical roots lie in soul, gospel and reggae, influenced by his parents' record collection and later by hip-hop and neo-soul greats such as J Dilla, D'Angelo and Erykah Badu.

He worked as a studio and live musician for years before dedicating himself to his own music in his own studio on Odderøya. During the pandemic, he finally found the time to form Les Imprimés as a solo project.

His sound mixes 60s/70s soul, doo-wop borrowings, hip-hop energy and 90s vocal stylings. Martens' personal signature - his lyrics, emotion and flair - makes the songs unmistakable: instantly catchy, yet profound and full of class.
