Soul and gospel were a constant presence in the household of Marten Marten aka Les Imprimés parents and thus naturally had a formative influence on his musical work and his unique, sensitive and uncategorizable sound. Les Imprimés combine the groove and sounds of the 60s and 70s, arrangements from doo-wop records, the drum energy of hip-hop and vocal styles from the 90s.
But in the end, it's Martens' lyrics, emotions and the way he delivers them that really bring the whole thing together and set him apart from his peers. The music is infectious and has a pop sensibility that gives Les Imprimés that rare quality of immediate appeal that only deepens the more you listen.
