Immerse yourself in the moving world of Ela's story - a haunting tale about a young woman struggling to find her place in life between family shadows and physical rebellion. The reading takes place as part of the 25th anniversary LiteraTour Nord in Lübeck and in cooperation with the Buddenbrookhaus.

Information about the book Young woman with a cat:
Throughout her life, Ela literally stood in her mother's shadow. Her father was convinced that her fat body was responsible for the misfortune of the whole family. Now Ela is an adult and it is her own body, her sick body, that makes her despair. Shortly before completing her doctorate, Ela experiences a breakdown. While she unconsciously wrestles with the question of whether she really deserves her place in the academic world, her body rebels: her throat, her heart, her skin - Ela is on fire and panics more and more.

About the author Daniela Dröscher:
Daniela Dröscher has a doctorate in media studies and studied scenic writing in Graz. She was awarded the Robert Gernhardt Prize (2017), among others. Her novel "Lügen über meine Mutter" (2022) was shortlisted for the German Book Prize.
