About the author
Shi Mei was born in Aksu in the Taklamakan Desert in China, she grew up in the Gobi Desert and has lived in Germany since 1990 and in Herrsching am Ammersee since 2017. She works as an author and translator. The novel "Tamarisken in der Wüste", which tells the story of her grandmother, is Shi Mei's German debut novel.
