The award-winning French bestselling author Marie Darrieussecq is coming to Bremen to read on

Thursday, September 18, from 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
at the Paula Modersohn-Becker Museum

from her novel biography "Hiersein ist herrlich. The Life of Paula Modersohn-Becker", which was originally written on the occasion of the major Paula Modersohn-Becker exhibition in Paris in 2016.

Just as the author and psychoanalyst felt the urge to write and tell stories, the painter strove for deep expressiveness and independence in her artistic work. An exciting encounter!

Marie Darrieussecq was born in Bayonne, France, in 1969 and lives as a writer and psychoanalyst in Paris. She studied literature at the Ecole Normale Supérieure and the Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris, among others, and received her doctorate in French literature in 1997. During her doctorate, she published her first novel "Truismes" (1996), which caused an international sensation among critics and the public. Darrieussecq then gave up her teaching position at the University of Lille and has since devoted herself entirely to writing.

The reading will be held in French with German translation by Patricia Klobusiczky.
