We cordially invite you to a reading with the historian Prof. Dr. Peter Seibert! He will be reading from his latest book "Die Niederschlagung des Bauernkriegs 1525. Beginning of a German history of violence" on October 31 at 7 pm in the Women's Museum and will be presenting the chapter "Women in the Peasants' War".

The focus is on the experiences and perspectives of women during the Peasants' War - their participation in uprisings, their roles as supporters, fighters and victims, as well as their virtual disappearance from historiography. Seibert sheds light on how female actors became visible in the course of events - and why their voices were almost completely silenced afterwards.

The reading invites you to broaden your view of the Peasants' War to include a feminist perspective and to reflect on the historical and commemorative significance of this "lost" chapter. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to talk to the author.
