About the author Ruth Shaw:
Ruth Shaw was born in Christchurch in 1946. Together with her husband Lance, she now runs the country's smallest bookshop in Manap uri, in the very south of New Zealand. Her first book, The Bookshop at the End of the World, was a surprise success and was translated into 12 languages as an international bestseller.
