Workshop:

Light and porcelain - the art of translucency

In this multi-day workshop, under the guidance of artist HYESUG PARK, you will create a light object from fine porcelain step by step and discover how the material allows light to shine through. First, you will develop an individual mold that will serve as the basis for your future object. You then pour liquid porcelain into the mold and work on the resulting thin-walled blank by cutting, perforating or other creative interventions that influence the later play of light. After the first firing, the object is polished and tested with a light source so that different wall thicknesses and structures become visible. You will experience how porcelain, as a translucent material, changes light and creates atmospheric effects.

The course is suitable for adults and young people aged 12 and over.
