L(i)ving with endometriosis: challenges in partnership and the desire to have children

Endometriosis can affect all areas of a woman's life and often have considerable negative effects. Impairments to sexuality and relationships are often particularly pronounced. The lower abdominal discomfort that is usually present often reduces the desire for sex - in addition to the side effects of hormonal treatment. Women with endometriosis also typically experience pain during sexual intercourse, which can put additional strain on the relationship.

Furthermore, endometriosis often reduces the chances of pregnancy, meaning that the unfulfilled desire to have children is an additional burden for many women. In this area too, it is important to know suitable solutions in order to better cope with the sometimes considerable physical and psychological stress.
