Literarischer Sonntag in "What the City"

In the organizer's words:

"What the City. Perspectives on our city" brings together current relevant topics and urban historical backgrounds in one exhibition. Ten chapters deal with issues such as security policies, the struggle for equality, the penchant for tradition and the downside of growth in the constantly expanding city of Munich.

In cooperation with the Monacensia, the city's literary memory, the Münchner Stadtmuseum is now inviting six Munich authors to enrich, expand or comment on the exhibition with their literary perspectives.

Reading with: Lena Gorelik, Uisenma Borchu and Daniel Bayerstorfer
Moderation: Rebecca Faber (Monacensia)

Daniel Bayerstorfer lives and works as an author and translator in Munich. He is known for his works "Gegenklaviere" and "Neulich starb Antigone", among others. He is co-organizer of the reading series "meine drei lyrischen ichs" (my three lyrical selves), where he gives literary and poetic voices of the present a stage.

From 2006 to 2015, Uisenma Borchu studied directing at the HFF Munich and was awarded the Megaherz Film School Award and the Bavarian Film Prize for Young Directors, among others. In works such as "Schau mich nicht so an" and "Schwarze Milch" she explores questions of identity and gender roles.

Lena Gorelik works in various literary genres and is best known for her novels such as "Meine weißen Nächte" and "Die Listensammlerin", but also writes essays and reports for various newspapers such as Die Zeit and SZ. In her autobiographical novel "Wer wir sind", Gorelik deals with aspects of identity, foreignness, anti-Semitism and self-discovery.
